RES is seeking people interested in a natural resources career as a Restoration Technician I based out of our ‚ÄčAlbany, NY office.     In the Northeast, RES provides a full array of ecological restoration and consulting services, stream and shoreline construction, wetland mitigation banking, and green infrastructure installation to clients in the private and public sectors, the main work site is in New York.     A successful candidate for this position will be interested in gaining experience in the following areas: invasive plant species control, native plant and seed installation, stream, and shoreline stabilization/construction, prescribed burning, and other types of habitat restoration.     This position is Full-time but depends on the workload and weather conditions. Overtime hours will be required during peak periods. Depending on the project location, travel and overnight stay within the Northeast region may be required. Most of the work is outdoors, often in inclement weather and on rugged terrain. RES is currently accepting applications for an Ecology Intern, based out of our Lafayette, LA office. This internship typically runs May-August, but the duration is negotiable based on your schedule.     The Mission: This Internship position will work with regulatory personnel to perform all aspects of fieldwork and assist with data entry and compilation of technical reports. Interns will work under the supervision of a Senior Ecologist. Your internship will conclude with a presentation on what you learned to Regulatory and Operations staff.   Interns will learn the principles of wetland mitigation according to Section 404 of the Clean Water Act implemented by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the business of providing mitigation, while growing your familiarity with the vegetation, hydrology, and soils in the Gulf Coast Region.   You will work under the supervision of a senior member of the Ecology team, in a group of like-minded people who are all passionate about the earth and who occasionally get to work with their four-legged friends out in the field!   Interns will be periodically quizzed to evaluate their developing skillset as they are exposed to the ecological side of the mitigation business. By the end of the summer, interns will be responsible for writing a monitoring report for a RES mitigation site that will be delivered to the USACE and will produce a presentation for the Regulatory team discussing their experience and learning over the summer.   Did you know that our Ecology team in the Gulf Coast has project sites all over Louisiana? RES is hiring an Assistant Project Manager to assist with the facilitation of projects to ensure timely execution through organization of project components and are completed within budget. This position will be assigned to the project in Medora, ND and Dickinson, ND.   The mission: The Assistant Project Manager will be responsible for the day to day coordination and/or oversight of each project and will report project progress, issues, concerns, to the PM.  It is expected that the APM will be able to attend site meetings and coordinate with the onsite inspectors, visitors, and other parties associated with the project as a part of their daily duties.  Should project issues arise the APM will coordinate with the PM for guidance and issue resolution.

Interns are expected to provide transportation to and from office and, on occasion, field sites. You can expect a weekly workload ranging between 30-40 hours during the months of May through August. The work schedule is primarily traditional weekday, but also will include occasional early morning, evening, or weekend work during daylight hours when stormwater sampling can be performed.
