RES is looking for a Grant Writer focusing on federal organizations, in particular, NOAA, NFWF, and BOR, sitting out of any of RES’s large offices (list provided below).

The mission: RES is actively growing across 25+ states and expanding our federal client base; the team currently needs a Grant Writer to provide federal grant application development focused on our mitigation, water quality, flood resiliency, and species habitat conservation solutions. Through your work, you will be helping develop RES opportunities with the federal government. The expertise you develop for this market will equip our Federal Solutions team with the vital commercial insights and applications necessary to compete in the market. This role, reporting to the Federal Solutions Lead, will also include providing day-to-day support to our Client Solutions Managers, Capture Managers, and Project Managers who pursue federal work.

This is a key position in our Federal Solutions team that will lead and develop grant applications and help support our growing nationwide footprint. You will have the opportunity to work with team members across departments and functions, providing solution development and application management, coordination and compilation of business information, qualifications, budgets, best practices, forms, and concept deliverables. Time management and attention to detail are essential for this position, as you will manage multiple deliverables simultaneously to meet their respective delivery timetables.

What your day-to-day might look like?

Grant applications and supporting materials. You will develop and compile staff resumes and qualifications, project descriptions, concept narratives, standard and example text, and other information from a variety of internal and external databases. You’ll be tracking and planning for future grant opportunities. This includes developing an understanding of timelines, funding, and program parameters for relevant grant programs. Tracking and planning will be done in coordination with RES’ Federal Solutions team members and business analysts. Be ready to showcase your outstanding written and verbal communication skills during the interview!

Grant application delivery logistics management. This means you will be organizing kickoff and planning calls and coordinating with stakeholders. The objective is to deliver applications that meet public sector clients’ procurement requirements during pre-application and full application or bid submittal processes. This includes management of content and deadlines from external clients and subcontractors. You will also manage the content library, archiving and maintaining the organization of application content.

Developing and managing stakeholder relationships. Typical grant applications require coordination with supporting stakeholders, and you will either lead stakeholder relationships (new and existing) or provide support to RES team members for these relationships in support of grant applications and positioning RES for future grant applications.

Knowledge management. This means you will be analyzing past processes to gather lessons learned and positive actions at the submittal of applications to enable process improvement and higher win rates. You will research and summarize client prequalification and procurement processes. You will then share your conclusions with the team
