Overview

RES is seeking a Project Manager with 5-10+ years of experience based out of our Warrenton, VA office.

The mission: RES currently is expanding our operations in VA , and this position will be supporting ongoing and new environmental restoration projects. We are looking for a seasoned communicator who knows how to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within RES, including Land, Legal, Regulatory, Design, Sales, Ecology, and Construction. You will also represent RES before the community and have the ability to work independently and lead a project from conception to successful completion. This individual will be a role model and mentor for junior staff in the project management team and represent RES at conferences and industry trade groups.

What your day-to-day might look like?

You will be developing project budgets, outlining a project schedule, and managing projects independently. Projects may include the development of mitigation solutions, nutrient reduction projects, and other environmental restoration work.  Depending on where the project is located, oversight of the project team may involve in-house staff and/or subcontractors. RES works in a variety of habitats across the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, and may include  stream, wetland, and shoreline restoration. This role may also involve supporting existing projects in all phases.

Familiarity with the regulatory requirements of the Mid-Atlantic as well as ecological restoration is an essential plus.

This role may also include evaluating bids from subcontractors, managing subcontractors, and providing QA/QC of contracts and technical reports. You will be interacting with our project accounting team and supporting the delivery of the financial reports, so experience with business financials is a plus.

Qualifications

We would love to talk to you if you have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in applied earth sciences, engineering, or similar field
  • 5-10+ years of progressive experience; 3+ years of Project Management Experience within the 5-10+ years
  • Experience leading a diverse group of project professionals
  • Experience in environmental restoration design, natural resource evaluation and permitting, and plan development
  • Experience as team lead and a familiarity with the engineering and/or construction components of developing projects

 

What will make you stand out?

  • Advanced Degree or additional qualifications such as certifications
  • Familiarity with mitigation and water quality projects in the Mid-Atlantic region
  • Experience with client and/or contract management
