The mission: RES has been actively growing its operations throughout the US and Kentucky is no exception. As a result, the Land team has evolved and is looking for team members to support projects throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana. Your main task in the first six months is to support the team with research and leg work, learn RES software programs, grow into the position, and eventually, orchestrate area specific land search efforts and private land purchase and easement agreements.
As such, you will be developing relationships with prospective landowners and community business leaders, thus securing property rights, and enabling project realization. It involves interaction with many of the RES functions, including sales, regulatory, and field operations teams, analysts, and in-house counsel – thus, communication skills are key to success.
This position could require up to 50% travel across the state of Kentucky/Mid-Atlantic region, including overnight stays.
You will be working on sourcing for new deals - researching suitable landowners, contacting them, and updating software reports. You will be then assisting in negotiations with the selected landowners on their properties, which can involve overnight stays.
Around 25% of your time will be dedicated to assisting in pre-acquisition and negotiation processes. You will also assist in due diligence items including survey and title and assist in the preparation and organization of closing documents. Some assistance will be required for the development of projects in the proposal process for projects in different phases.
Around 25% of your time, you will be doing analytical work - analyzing property data and land records for the suitability of restoration sites, running numbers associated with the acquisition of new land assets, and working with management to prepare and maintain monthly cash flow statements, and assisting in creating preliminary project budgets.
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of your responsibilities.
We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:
