Overview

RES is currently accepting applications for the position of Restoration Manager with 5+ years of experience based out of our based out of the Klamath Falls/Keno field office.

 Who is RES: We are the nation’s largest and most experienced provider of ecological restoration and water resource solutions. To date, we have restored over 525 stream miles and 62,000 wetland acres, in addition to conserving and preserving 15,000 acres of endangered species habitats. RES operations include planting over 20,000,000 restorative trees and reducing over 280 tons of polluting nutrients. RES ecological solutions enable a balance of economic development and ecological sustainability.

 

The Mission: You will manage riverine, upland and wetland restoration projects, including managing staff, schedules, and technical direction, and project QA/QC.

 

To thrive in this role, you need to possess COMMUNICATION skills, as you will be in constant contact with direct reports, subcontractors, corporate staff, clients, and regulators, all speaking different “technical languages”; and RELATIONSHIP BUILDING skills, as you will be a front face to the regulatory bodies at RES’s project sites.

What your day-to-day might look like?

50% of the time, you will be on the field, overseeing the projects you are assigned to, and managing the technical and operational field team that includes Restoration Supervisors, Restoration Technicians, Contractors, and, occasionally, third party science consultants.   You will be responsible for maintaining project facilities such as buildings, roads, and fences through direct work performance or oversight of staff or contractors.

 

50% of the time, you will be in the office, supporting the projects, through budgeting, staff and contractor schedules, reviewing and ordering project materials, and updating projects in RES’ project management system.

 

You will also review and develop project opportunities with the proposal team, Director, and Client Solutions Manager, and interact with regulatory authorities, making sure their requirements are met.

Qualifications

We would love to talk to you if you have many of the following:

  • BA/BS Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, Geology, Hydrology, Agricultural Science, or similar Science
  • Experience in ecological restoration
  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of principles of environmental permitting,
  • Experience in construction oversight and compliance

 

 

Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year
