RES is the nation’s largest and most experienced provider of ecological restoration and water resource solutions. To date, we have restored over 328 stream miles, 58,024 wetland acres, and rehabilitated, preserved, and/or managed over 15,000 acres of special-status species habitats. RES operations include planting over 17,400,000 restorative trees and reducing over 267 tons of polluting nutrients. RES navigates and streamlines the environmental permitting process with solutions that balance economic development and ecological sustainability through the establishment of mitigation/conservation banks, permittee responsible turnkey mitigation, and corporate social responsibility projects.


This position is responsible for providing subcontractor oversight of stream restoration construction projects and activities. This role will also include manual labor, crew management, equipment operation, construction oversight, and general upkeep around the project site. 


  • Operating equipment including; all terrain utility vehicles, tractors, skid loaders, track hoe’s
  • Crew management and oversight; ensure all plants, erosion control products, and any maintenance work is conducted to specification and to a highly level of quality as expected by the Project Manager
  • Construction oversight; including day-to-day sub-contractor oversight, QAQC; using trimble equipment to check grading,
  • Responsible for looking after assets, individuals, and properties
  • Installing Erosion &Sediment control matting and blanket
  • Understanding of DEP E&S controls and how to properly implement them
  • Daily communication with operations manager on project progression
  • Ordering supplies and materials



  • 3 or more years of field experience in ecological restoration and site management
  • Prior work experience as a Foreman or Crew Lead
  • Must be willing to travel a minimum of week at a time
  • familiarity with survey (Trimble Total Station)   or grading checking equipment

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to direct sub-contractors and crew members to meet project timelines and to ensure work is done to a high standard of quality
  • Be able to read and implement construction plansets
  • Proficient with trimble total station
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Hazwhopper and OSHA certified
  • Takes directions well and willing to learn
  • Executes tasks with high attention to detail and completes jobs in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work both on the ground and on the machine.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to get the job completed with tight timeframes and difficult conditions
  • Work is seasonally steady and will require over 40 hours per week. Some weekend work required during peak periods



  • Two or more years of construction equipment experience


Physical Demands:

  • Willing and able to perform and comply with the following items:

    • Ability to carry heavy loads of up to 50 pounds in rough terrain
    • Ability to operate standard construction equipment; brush cutters, chainsaws, pumps
    • Ability to work outside in harsh and under adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, snow, and exposure to insects including ticks and mosquitoes. Exposure to poisonous plants such as poison ivy.
    • Ability to walk long distances
    • Strict adherence to safety protocols, including proper PPE requirements
