    RES is accepting applications for a Water Resources Engineer with 3+ years of experience in Raleigh, NC.

    Responsibilities

    The desired candidate’s responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

    • FEMA floodplain permitting
    • H & H Modeling
    • Erosion and Sediment Control design and permitting
    • Assistance with stream and wetland restoration plan production
    • Stream and wetland assessment
    • Prepare quantity take-offs
    • Writing technical reports/memos for inhouse and external distribution

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 3+ years of applicable experience
    • Ability to obtain a NC professional license within 1 year
    • B. S. in an engineering field (such as but not limited to agricultural engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering or natural resources engineering, etc)
    • Superior writing, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) with attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively focus on a variety of tasks to produce quality results and within deadlines
    • Ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs
    • Ability to travel occasionally to meetings, project sites or offices as needed (overnight stays occasionally are required)
    • Acceptable driving record

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Ability to complete FEMA No-Rise and CLOMR/ LOMR permitting with limited supervision
    • Ability to prepare 2D Hydraulic Models
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and/ or other hydrologic and hydraulic programs
    • Fundamental understanding of wetland delineation, wetland assessments, wetland restoration design and construction
    • Clean Water Act, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes
    • Office software to include spreadsheets, budgeting and scheduling programs
