    We are seeking a highly motivated and focused Maintenance of Traffic Manager (Traffic Engineer) to support SHA contracts throughout the State. This position is going to oversee traffic control operations, state-wide, under a SHA contract. The successful candidate will be an organized self-starter with strong attention-to-detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to build relationships. This individual must be able to work well independently as well as a contributing member of various project teams.

    Responsibilities

     

    The primary role of this position is to provide direction, oversight and interaction of the day-to-day MOT activities for several projects at once. The position is responsible for leading the project team in the design and implantation of an internal MOT program, designed to comply with SHA and contract specific requirements. The selected candidate will interact directly with internal crews, MOT subcontractors, SHA personnel, and the project team; to ensure strict compliance with SHA regulations and specifications.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor, oversee and ensure compliance for all MOT related activities.
    • Design, build, and implement an internal MOT compliance process and program for both internal and external crews.
    • Develop, coordinate, schedule and conduct MOT training for employees and contractors as necessary.  
    • Conduct field inspections to ensure safety and compliance at job sites.
    • Communicate discrepancies with compliance to project management team, and ensure corrective actions are taken with internal and external crews/contractors.
    • Receive and respond to SHA concerns on MOT issues, ensuring corrective actions are taken and completed properly.
    • Assist in the development of daily MOT inspection process (through Procore project management software), compile and deliver daily inspections to SHA team.
    • Responsible for maintaining and updating MOT records.
    • Periodic subcontractor and self-audits of MOT program.
    • Attend all required SHA and internal project team meetings and conduct field meetings as needed.
    • Execute periodic reporting requirements.
    • Coordinate with Senior Project Manager, Construction Project Manager, and other members of the project team.
    • Direct/Lead/Oversee initial set-up of MOT controls at project sites, conduct periodic and as-requested inspections. Additional site visits, inspections, and in-put may be required at other project mile-stones.
    • Generate and maintain material lists both for the contract and for project specific locations.
    • Generate and coordinate submission of MOT-related submittals through SHA MMS portal.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

     

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years of professional Maintenance of Traffic experience, preferably with SHA projects
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a construction manager, MOT manager, engineering, or MOT inspections role
    • Bachelor's degree in science-related field, project management, or related experience
    • Ability to read, interpret, and suggest modifications to MOT plans, adjusting as needed for constructability, practicality, and per SHA standard details
    • Ability to comprehend and interpret contract specific and SHA MOT specifications
    • Ability to develop and influence subtractor agreements and scopes of work
    • Ability to interact professionally with internal team, SHA, subcontractors, and other agencies as needed
    • Ability to confidently interact with SHA and inspectors as needed
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office software
    • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
    • Clean driving record
