    RES is hiring a Sr. Regulatory Specialist to assist with the facilitation of projects to ensure timely execution through organization of project components and are completed within budget. This persno will also lead the regulatory team in identifying permit strategy, analyzing/interpreting data, and providing QA/QC of all final reports and deliverables.

    Responsibilities

    The desired candidate’s primary responsibilities include assisting Private Natural Resources clients with preparation of documents and guidance and coordination of permitting projects related to Clean Water Act Section 401/404.

     

    Other responsibilities include:

    • Lead the development of regulatory documents
    • Ensure timely processing and execution for all regulatory interactions and permitting deliverables
    • Track permit schedules & expiration dates
    • Work with PM's and sales to submit technical proposals
    • Lead coordination with regulatory agencies
    • Train others on RES process and procedures and ensure team is updated on changes in regulations
    • Support PM's and/or Ecology staff as needed

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • BA/BS in Biology, Environmental Science, Geology, Hydrology, Botany or similar Science
    • Experience independently drafting and compiling permit documents/reports and supporting information without supervision
    • Advanced competency in scientific writing and document preparation
    • Advanced understanding of and experience with relevant environmental regulations and permits/approvals (e.g. CWA 404/401, NWP/IP, NPDES, ESA), and credit release schedules
    • Wetland delineation experience
    • Joint Permit Application preparation experience
    • Good teamwork skills, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills are required
    • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
    • Strong organizational, time management, attention to detail, and analytical skills
    • Positive attitude and team-centered approach to problem solving
    • Ability to travel to sites as needed
    • Acceptable driving record
    • Candidate will need to pass a basic background investigation

    Desired Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of relevant experience
    • Knowledge of Federal/State/Local environmental regulations
    • Strong record of communicating with/developing relationships with regulatory agency personnel
    • Advanced understanding of restoration design principles, approaches, and supporting technical information such as engineering design plans, functional calculations, and ecological data and strong ability to communicate this information through written project deliverables with support from the project team
