    RES is accepting applications for a Senior Engineer with 5+ years of experience in Virginia. The desired candidate’s responsibilities would include, but are not limited to performing all aspects of compliance with the county’s plan review processes and requirements, preparation of grading plans, design of ecological-based restorative design plans, floodplain studies, soil erosion and sedimentation control plans, construction stormwater plans, natural resource inventory and conservation plans.


    The desired candidate’s responsibilities would include, but are not limited to:

    • Strategic staff and business planning
    • QA/QC of production
    • Ensuring compliance with pertinent engineering regulations and laws including Section 401/404 of the Clean Water Act
    • Client acquisition and management
    • Establishing and enforcing policies to increase efficiency
    • Assistance with stream and wetland restoration plans
    • Design and creation of soil erosion/sedimentation control plans and construction stormwater plans
    • Writing technical reports/memos for inhouse and external distribution


    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5+ years of applicable experience
    • A registered PE in Tennessee
    • B.S. in an engineering field (such as but not limited to agricultural engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering or natural resources engineering, etc)
    • Superior writing, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) with attention to detail
    • Ability to effectively focus on a variety of tasks to produce quality results and within deadlines
    • Ability to travel occasionally to meetings, project sites or offices as needed (overnight stays occasionally are required)
    • Ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs
    • Acceptable driving record

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Ability to read and interpret soil erosion and sedimentation control plans, construction stormwater plans, and site restoration plans.
    • Curriculum or on the job experience with water resources engineering, floodplain analyses, hydraulic and hydrology investigation, as well as stream and wetland biological functionality.
    • Clean Water Act, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes.
    • Fundamental understanding of wetland delineation, wetland assessments, wetland restoration design and construction.
    • Participating in a team environment effectively and efficiently.
    • AutoCAD, HEC-RAS or other hydrologic and hydraulic programs
    • Office software to include spreadsheets, budgeting and scheduling programs.
