    The Construction Project Manager (CPM) will oversee the construction scope and all activities at the project site and ensures that work is done safely, on time, within budget and to the right quality standards for projects within RES’s Mid-Atlantic Region. The qualified candidate will provide leadership with the highest of integrity that is aligned with RES’s core values, vision, and mission. The CPM will manage the entire project lifecycle from project definition through implementation. Accountable for meeting agreed upon scope, cost, schedule and quality measures.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate and/or supervise construction activities of construction administrators, superintendents, foremen, operators, and field employees on all RES projects
    • Monitor ongoing project progress through constant communication, as well as routine project management software updates, inform management of progress, alert management to potential issues, identify recommended solutions, and obtain signed/executed change orders in advance of change order work.
    • Develops project plan and drives project milestones
    • Partner with internal accounting and finance to ensure project and vendor invoicing is accurate and processed timely
    • Provides day-to-day direction to project resources and ensures the project teams are provided the resources and support that enable the teams to reach their defined objectives
    • Evaluate construction plans during design phase of projects
    • Establishes effective communication plan with project team and key stakeholders
    • Ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule
    • Interface with Leadership team, Project Manager, Project Designer, client representatives, and subcontractors to ensure all company, client, and project policies and procedures are adhered to
    • Interface with Project Designer and Project Manager as necessary to review constructability of design with the goal of meeting quality, cost and schedule commitments
    • Interface with all project team members as required in the establishment of project schedules and resolving schedule problems
    • Mentor and train junior construction administrators on all project elements with the goal of increasing accountability and clarity throughout the project’s life cycle
    • Work with Finance to forecast on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
    • Works closely with General Managers, Procurement, IT, Accounting/Finance, HR, and other company departments to ensure all activities are being executed per policies and procedures
    • Represent RES and project team during bid process, project scope development, client meetings and project management meetings
    • Partners with the RES Safety team to ensure that the implementation/interpretation of safety programs are being executed in all activities at all levels

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years working in field operations or civil construction
    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in construction, ecological restoration, or agriculture concentration
    • Experience working on natural resource or water resource infrastructure projects is preferred
    • Experience with construction estimating associated with restoration projects
    • Ability to provide practical feedback on construction drawings during design phase
    • Possess excellent leadership skills and have the ability to effectively manage employees, budgets, and construction schedules
    • Experience coordinating and supervising subcontractors and field employees
    • Prior experience with estimation and project management software such as Heavy Bid or Bid to Win or ability to quickly learn a similar software
    • Familiar with construction methods, techniques, and labor requirements and how they apply to construction projects
    • An ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally with a diverse group of coworkers, consultants, contractors, clients and regulators
    • Willingness to travel and work outside normal office hours
