    Responsibilities

    RES is accepting applications for a Senior Water Resources Engineer with 5+ years of experience in our Nasvhille, TN office. The desired candidate’s responsibilities would include, but are not limited to performing all aspects of compliance with the county’s plan review processes and requirements, preparation of grading plans, design of ecological-based restorative design plans, floodplain studies, soil erosion and sedimentation control plans, construction stormwater plans, natural resource inventory and conservation plans. 

    Qualifications

    • B.S. in an engineering field (such as but not limited to civil engineering, agricultural engineering, environmental engineering, water resources engineering or natural resources engineering, etc.)
    • A registered PE in Tennessee

    • Superior writing, communication, and computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.) with attention to detail

    • Ability to effectively focus on a variety of tasks to produce quality results and within deadlines
    • Ability to travel occasionally to sites as needed. Overnight stays very occasionally are required.
    • A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs
    • Acceptable driving record
    • Experience with the following:
    • Ability to read and interpret soil erosion and sedimentation control plans, construction stormwater plans, and site restoration plans
    • Curriculum or on the job experience with water resources engineering, floodplain analyses, hydraulic and hydrology investigation, as well as stream and wetland biological functionality
    • Clean Water Act, state, and federal environmental regulations and permitting processes
    • Fundamental understanding of wetland delineation, wetland assessments, wetland restoration design and construction
    • Participating in a team environment effectively and efficiently
    • AutoCAD, HEC-RAS or other hydrologic and hydraulic programs
