    RES is looking to add a Payroll Coordinator to the Accounting team in Baton Rouge, LA. The Payroll Coordinator will be responsible for the payroll for all of our U.S. locations with most employee populations in Texas, Louisiana, Virginia and Pennsylvania. Using various timekeeping systems and with the assistance of a PEO provider, the Payroll Coordinator will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, participate in bi-weekly and weekly Payroll processing. Additional requirements include assisting staff in the process of obtaining information for payroll production and tax related issues; verifying totals, responding to employee questions and concerns while delivering quality customer service.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for payroll of 400+ employees for bi-weekly period and 100+ employees on a weekly basis
    • Review and assist with payroll related employee changes, including voluntary deductions in the payroll system
    • Coordination of manual checks such as terminations and discrepancies
    • Prepare, process and reconcile hourly and salaried bi-weekly payrolls to general ledger and operational reporting system
    • Prepare and process garnishments
    • Calculate new hire pay, termination pay, and any required adjustment to normal pay
    • Processing stop payments or adjustments of payroll
    • Calculate bonuses as requested
    • Ensure that computing, withholding, and deductions are done correctly
    • Answers questions for the accounting department related to payroll and payroll related questions or concerns
    • Collaborates with Human Resources department on employment matters and payroll related questions
    • Knowledge of wage and hour laws
    • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related payables duties as needed for routine processing steps
    • Prepare, process and reconcile labor and equipment costs from operational reporting system to accounting system

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • Bachelors Degree  or Associates Degree in finance, accounting, or related field
    • 4 - 7 years experience with payroll processing in a multi-state environment
    • Proficient in PC/Payroll for Windows
    • Experience with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System
    • Must have worked with a payroll size greater than 200 employees, including multi-state payrolls
    • Knowledge of Excel and familiarity with Microsoft Word. Should be comfortable with computer applications in general
    • 10-key by touch
    • Superior attention to detail
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with capability to meet rapid, frequent deadlines
    • Passion for change and continuous improvement in financial processes and systems
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality a must

    Desired:

    • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
    • Experience with Great Plains, Deltek or NetSuite
    • Experience with HCSS, Insperity or other timekeeping systems
