Overview

RES is the nation’s largest and most experienced provider of ecological restoration and water resource solutions. To date, we have restored over 180 stream miles and 40,400 wetland acres and conserved and preserved 6,100 acres of endangered species habitats. RES operations include planting over 11,000,000 restorative trees and reducing over 240 tons of polluting nutrients. RES navigates and streamlines the environmental permitting process with solutions that balance economic development and ecological sustainability.

 

RES is accepting resumes for an Environmental Specialist to provide on-site, broad environmental support to a Federal sector client in the DC Metro area.

Responsibilities

The desired candidate’s primary responsibilities include assisting Federal Natural Resources clients with preparation of documents and coordination of guidance and permitting projects related to Clean Water Act Section 401/404.

 

Other responsibilities include:

  • Field work (including stream assessments, mitigation monitoring, and walkover project site visits)
  • Coordination with state and Federal agencies and third-party project proponent teams
  • Supporting additional environmental objectives of the clients
  • NEPA
  • Wetland and stream mitigation feasibility and design review

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Good teamwork skills, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills are required
  • Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
  • Candidate will need to pass a basic Department of Defense Federal background investigation

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of Federal/State/Local environmental regulations
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of applicable Department of Defense Legislation, Regulations, Policies, Instructions and Executive Orders (e.g., Sikes Act, DoD Instruction 4715.03, 32 CFR Part 651, Army Regulations (AR) 200-1 through 3)
  • Experience delineating wetlands or streams
