RES navigates and streamlines the environmental permitting process with solutions that balance economic development and ecological sustainability.


We are seeking a highly motivated and focused EHS&S professional to be a part of our Northeast Regional Team based out of the Pittsburgh, PA office. The successful candidate will be an organized self-starter with strong attention-to-detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to build relationships. This individual must be able to work well independently as well as a contributing member of various cross-functional teams.


The primary role of this position is to provide direction, oversight and interaction of the day-to-day EHS&S activities of the Northeast Region. The selected candidate will interact directly with site and field personnel to ensure that our safety, environmental, security and transportation related activities are carried out in strict compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations. This position requires frequent regional travel.



  • Monitor, oversee and ensure compliance for all environmental health, safety & security program areas
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Create, update and implement all Environmental, Health and Safety programs with assistance and direction from RES’ Corporate Safety Director
  • Coordinate and conduct internal training  
  • Develop and conduct EHS&S-related trainings for regional employees
  • Conduct field inspections to ensure safety and compliance at job sites
  • Conduct vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with applicable rules, regulations and requirements
  • Ensure training is properly documented in our internal training tracking system
  • Responsible for maintaining and updating all EHS&S and transportation records
  • Periodic self-audits of all program areas
  • Work with corporate headquarters to obtain new, replacement, or renewed permits/registrations for our fleet of vehicles in compliance with regulatory agency requirements
  • Exercise discretion and confidentiality when working with employee records
  • Lead regional safety committee meetings on a bimonthly basis and communicate information from meetings to corporate headquarters and local employees
  • Attend safety meetings and conduct customer specific (semi-annual meetings, customer safety stand-down) meetings
  • Assist with maintaining databases, such as ISNetworld, Avetta, etc
  • Execute periodic reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with Corporate Compliance on accident and incident investigations


  • 1-5 years of professional experience
  • Ability to conduct training
  • Bachelor's degree in science-related field or related experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to confidently interact with regulators and inspectors when needed
  • Work well independently and as a member of a team
  • Basic knowledge of federal transportation, environmental health & safety regulations and programs
