RES is the nation’s largest and most experienced provider of ecological restoration and water resource solutions. To date, we have restored over 180 stream miles and 40,400 wetland acres and conserved and preserved 6,100 acres of endangered species habitats. RES operations include planting over 11,000,000 restorative trees and reducing over 240 tons of polluting nutrients. RES navigates and streamlines the environmental permitting process with solutions that balance economic development and ecological sustainability.
RES has an immediate opening for a part-time Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector in the Fort Meyers, FL area. The position entails moderate to strenuous hiking on active construction sites with rough/muddy terrain in adverse weather conditions. Inspections must be conducted at least every 7 calendar days and within 24-hours of the end of storm events that are 0.50 inches or more (including weekends and holidays).
Candidates will be highly motivated and reliable. Work will require impeccable attention to detail and accurate documentation of field observations and thorough updating of field paperwork on a regular basis. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. MS Office and iPad proficiency is a must.
4-yr environmental degree preferred.
Minimum of 1 year experience with NPDES Compliance/E&S Control inspections required.
Experience working in and around construction sites preferred.
CESSWI, CPESC and/or CISEC certifications are a plus.
Valid driver’s license is mandatory.
*Must obtain the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Stormwater, Erosion, & Sedimentation Control Inspector Qualification Certification within 4 months of hire.
