RES is the nation’s largest and most experienced provider of ecological restoration and water resource solutions. RES navigates and streamlines the environmental permitting process with solutions that balance economic development and ecological sustainability.


Reporting directly to the CFO, the Corporate Controller has overall responsibility for accounting, analysis and financial reporting for a fast-growing organization in a niche industry with multiple locations across the United States. This role requires a close working relationship with independent auditors, the executive leadership team and private equity partners; management of a team of accounting professionals; and interaction with regional management teams, Financial Planning & Analysis, Sales, Business Development, Project Management, Legal and Corporate Development. The Corporate Controller will be responsible for developing processes and leading all aspects of accounting, internal controls, financial systems implementations and financial integration of acquisitions for the company.


  • Ownership over company-wide accounting, reporting and comprehensive analysis of operating results and key metrics to private equity owners and executive management
  • Lead general accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance functions
  • Manage annual audit process with E&Y, oversee preparation of audited financials, and resolve audit issues to ensure successful and timely completion of required audits
  • Establish strong relationships with cross-functional leaders and be seen as the company’s technical expert in accounting matters
  • Ensure integrity of financial systems, general ledgers and sub-ledgers and leads financial system implementations and/or enhancements to maximize productivity and improve management decision-making
  • Develop policies and procedures to ensure proper internal controls while maximizing operational efficiency
  • Identify and lead opportunities to automate and streamline accounting operations to support the company’s growth
  • Support the company’s initiatives involving accounting matters, including potential strategic transactions and M&A activity
  • Provide leadership in strengthening staff with commitment to recruiting, mentoring, and training a diverse team
  • Coordinate and manage training for finance and non-finance employees on important and complex accounting and finance topics
  • Oversee the company’s insurance and risk management process
  • Assists the executive leadership team with special projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications:


  • BA/BBA
  • 7+ years of accounting / finance experience
  • Diverse supervisory / management experience
  • Superior Excel, Powerpoint skills required

Desired Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • 10+ years work experience in accounting/financial roles preferably with a large corporation and / or Big 4 accounting firm/financial advisory/consulting firm
  • 2+ years at a Corporate Controller level or equivalent Accounting leadership position
  • Experience in a projects-based industry is desirable
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition standards (current and proposed new standards)



  • Baton Rouge, LA with up to 10% expected travel to field office locations around the U.S. and occasional travel to Corporate HQ in Houston, TX
